Joe Ursuy
Executive Vice President, National Businesses, Comerica Bank
Joe Ursuy serves as Executive Vice President, National Businesses for Energy, Renewables and Waste. Ursuy most recently served as Senior Vice President, Department Manager-Environmental Services, a department he was instrumental in establishing among Comerica’s Commercial Banking divisions.
Ursuy’s commercial lending team extends throughout Comerica’s footprint, including in Michigan, Texas and California while managing multi-billion dollar in total assets. His responsibilities include managing high growth through exceptional talent management, asset quality and through strategic client selection. Clients include waste management, recycling and energy businesses located throughout the US and Canada.
In May 2022, Comerica expanded the Environmental Services Department with the introduction of the Renewable Energy Solutions Group that is dedicated to growing and supporting Comerica’s renewable energy business.
Under Ursuy’s leadership, Comerica’s environmental services team supports a national platform focused on profitably growing its commercial loan assets, involving key internal partners, and serving as trusted advisors through extensive industry knowledge coupled with a relationship banking approach.
Prior to founding the Environmental Services Group in 2006, Ursuy held various positions in Comerica’s Middle Market Banking Department after starting as a Credit Analyst in 1998. The 26-year veteran in the financial services industry serves on Comerica’s Michigan Leadership Team.
Ursuy obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in economics from Northwood University and an MBA from the University of Detroit Mercy. He also completed training at the Center for Creative Leadership in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Ursuy is a board member for the Environmental Research and Education Foundation (www.erefdn.org) based in Raleigh, N.C., and is a frequent guest speaker at industry events. He is an avid supporter of giving back to the community, and he and his team regularly volunteer at several Detroit area charities. He and his wife, Natasha, reside in Oakland Township, Michigan with their two sons Austin (age 22) and Jonathan (age 20).
